Senior Associate, Research

Lucas Alexiou is a Trent University honours graduate, with a Master of Arts in history. Lucas’s focus for research is Canadian Politics/Policy/Procedure, Settler/Indigenous Relations, and Western Canadian political development during the twentieth century. Before graduate school, Lucas also completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. Throughout various streams of employment at hospitals, municipal governments, and time at university, Lucas has become highly competent in tasks such as research/data management, professional-grade writing, public relations/community outreach, teaching, and critical problem analysis.

Lucas is passionate and highly aware of the issues faced by Indigenous peoples in Canada. Working at CCIB has allowed him to do meaningful work in this sector and hone his skills as a research professional. He leads portfolios ranging from Indigenous trade and export to procurement, intellectual property, community development, entrepreneurship, and industry-related topics.

Lucas has recently completed a Graduate Certificate in project management from Durham College and is looking to pursue his PMP designation.
