Certified Indigenous Business

Certified Indigenous Business (CIB) ensures that Indigenous businesses are easily identified by industry, government and other organizations. Certified businesses can promote themselves using the designated logo on the left.

Certified businesses are identified as “CIB” in the member directory on our website and have access to opportunities promoted by corporate members.

Using the designated Certified Indigenous Business logo, certified Indigenous businesses are easily identified by industry, government and other organizations.

Profile listing

Certified Indigenous Business members are identified in the public member profile listing found on CCIB’s website.

Indigenous procurement

Members have access to the Indigenous Procurement Marketplace directory, an online buying and selling marketplace. Plus, corporate/government opportunities on a regular basis.

Exclusive bid processes

CCIB has partnered with the City of Toronto through their Social Procurement Program. CIB companies can participate in the invitational bid process and submit a quote for contracts valued between $3,000 and $100,000.

Special rates for members to several of CCIB’s virtual events.

Complimentary webinars

CIB members enjoy several complimentary webinars throughout the year to learn more about strategic sourcing and corporate/government contracting processes.

Indigenous ownership

51% or more Indigenous ownership and control. Applicants must also provide proof of ownership and control documents listed  on our online application form. (Based on the Ownership Structure Type).

Proof of Indigenous heritage

Proof of Indigenous heritage of owner(s), acceptable documents of valid identification provided by the following:

  • Indian Status Card
  • Métis National Council Governing Membership
  • Inuit Beneficiary Card
  • Congress of Aboriginal Peoples (CAP) Affiliate Membership
  • Northwest Territories Land Claim Settlement Beneficiaries
  • Confirmed Alberta Métis Settlement Members
  • Northwest Territory Métis Nation Membership
  • Membership in a historic Métis community recognized as independent and rights-bearing by a provincial or Canadian federal government.
