Panelist

Jenny Stephens

CEO, Total Trenchless LTD.

Jenny Stephens is a proud member of the Metis Nation of Alberta, a graduate from Mount Royal University and SAIT, receiving honors in Business and throughout those years, won many Indigenous scholarships for outstanding academic performance. In 2018 she started Total Trenchless Ltd., with her husband, which is an Indigenous-woman majority owned construction company that specializes in underground trenchless pipe installations for several industries including civil, municipal, rail, pipeline and oil and gas.

Alongside her team, Total Trenchless has grown quickly year over year, employs 35 personnel and has become the preferred vendor to a majority of Canada’s top organizations. Jenny was awarded the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women in 2021, which identifies a select group of high-potential founders who have built profitable companies and provides them with connections needed to unlock their full potential.

Prior to starting her business, Jenny was employed by an Indigenous owned staffing agency, Spirit Staffing, for 15 years that was centered around placing Indigenous candidates within the workforce and educating employers on diversity and inclusion strategies. Her last role held there was the Operations Manager, where she was responsible for developing national recruitment campaigns, managing the organizations top customers which included over 200 placed contractors, the company’s marketing strategies, implementing best practices, and working with industry leaders to educate organizations on how to implement diversity employment strategies.  This career sparked a passion that holds a special place in her heart, and being a business owner now empowers her to hire and retain Indigenous personnel providing them with employment opportunities that far exceeds fair and equitable norms.
