About the Award
The new Indigenous Business of the Year Award honors the achievements and contributions of an Indigenous business that significantly supports and enriches the economic, social, and cultural well-being of Indigenous communities.
Eligibility Criteria
Business Performance
- Financially stable with consistent growth in revenue and profitability.
- Has a strategic vision for long-term growth and sustainability.
- Supports and collaborates with other Indigenous businesses or organizations contributing to a broader economic ecosystem.
Innovation and Leadership
- Has introduced innovative practices, products, or services that have set it apart.
- Demonstrates strong leadership internally to promote professional growth and training opportunities.
Measurable Results
- Business results are identifiable and measurable.
- Shows evidence of sustained impact over time, indicating long-term benefits for the community.
Community Impact
- Contributes to the economic well-being of its Indigenous community. This includes creating jobs, fostering economic growth, and is environmentally responsible.
- Respects and incorporates Indigenous cultural values and traditions in its operations and business model.
Nominations for 2025 open Monday, February 3 and close Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
Awards will be presented in Vancouver, October 8th, 2025.
Candidates are deemed ineligible if they have an existing formal relationship with CCIB (e.g. Board of Directors, CCIB Staff member, Award Sponsor, etc.)
