A statement from Tabatha Bull regarding the invitation to join the Council on Canada-U.S. Relations.

The threat of tariffs has the potential to impact all businesses in Canada, this includes Indigenous business. According to recent research, 19% of revenues of Indigenous business that export come from the US, for some businesses this number is closer to 90%. It is more important than ever to ensure that the voices and needs of CCIB members and Indigenous businesses across Canada are represented in all discussions at this critical time. This is why I agreed to join the Council on Canada-U.S. Relations.
This isn’t about politics – it is about addressing real challenges that are facing businesses in Canada today.
Indigenous businesses and communities play a vital role in the economic success of all Nations on Turtle Island. I am committed to advocating for our members, ensuring their priorities are understood, barriers are addressed, and their contributions are recognized in these critical discussions. This is a time to focus on collaborations and solutions and work proactively to protect and promote Indigenous economic interests. We cannot afford to sit out this conversation.
