Associate, Business Development
Salary Range: $45,760 – $61,000

The Associate, Business Development is responsible for supporting the Director, Sponsorship & Corporate Partnerships with proposal writing, partnership agreements and contracts. The role also supports the development of sponsors and partnerships, sales, creation of prospect lists, and outreach to potential supporters to facilitate CCIB’s endeavours and administrative work.
The Associate, Business Development is responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with current donors (including corporate organizations and foundations).
- Ensure regular communication and adherence to reporting timelines with donors/sponsors.
- Liaise with various departments within CCIB to collect and present relevant information to stakeholders.
- Prepare stakeholder-specific reports and assist in completing donors’ due diligence requirements by coordinating and collating data from CCIB Departments (Events, Communications, Finance, etc.).
- Finding, qualifying and managing a lead list of one hundred companies, contacts, and opportunities for CCIB.
- Utilize and update the internal CRM Database (MPower Technologies) and ensure all prospective and current donor/sponsor/member details are accurately recorded in the CRM database.
- Contributes to Grant/Report/Proposal Writing and Sponsorship/Prospect lists.
- Contact potential and CCIB Members through phone/email/meetings as assigned.
- Identify Member needs and suggest appropriate products/services through CCIB Membership benefits.
- Build long-term trusting relationships with new and existing CCIB Members.
- Proactively seeks new business, partnerships, and sponsorship opportunities in the marketplace.
- Set up meetings or calls between potential Members as assigned.
- Reports directly to the Director during weekly meetings.
- And other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- 2-3 years of Fundraising/Sponsorship and/or Sales experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in writing grant proposals.
- Business, Sales, and Fundraising background is preferred.
- Administrative background on systems for meetings set up and support.
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in office administration, business, communications, or related fields preferred.
- Highly motivated team player with positive interpersonal skills and ability to build positive business relationships with potential CCIB Members.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Previous knowledge or experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and/or sales database systems.
- Good judgement, discretion, tact, and the ability to collaborate easily with senior leaders within the charitable, government or business sectors.

Position Type: This is a full-time position located anywhere in Canada, with hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
