For over 20+ years, FCH has provided an Indigenous workforce that is technically trained. We have set up very unique recruitment supports where Indigenous applicants are coached through the application and interviewing process and given the opportunity to engage in “mock” interviews, to break down performance anxiety barriers. These services are offered whether individuals are hired or not. Our approach has been extremely successful in recruiting and retaining Indigenous workforces, in competitive marketplaces. To support retention, we have set up a unique program of culturally appropriate supports for employees’ annual reviews.
To support cultural engagement, we have initiated lunch and learn programs that are designed to give pride to cultural practices and support larger cultural awareness. We operate primarily in Ontario and have partnered with a wide range of Indigenous recruitment partners. We have set up internal working committees, and dedicated personal to oversee and support Indigenous recruitment, training, and retention.
We continue to meet and exceed our obligations, and recently were successful in securing another 10+ years contract with Health Canada, through an RFP process, led by our partner, the incumbent contractor.
