Myra Metchooyeah
Program Coordinator, PAIR Program
Myra a proud member of the Dene Tha’ First Nation within Treaty 8 territory. Originally from one of the Northern Alberta communities of DTFN, Bushe River, which is near the town of High Level. She has worked with Indigenous and non-profit organizations for over 10 years within administrative and social development departments. Myra also helped launch the first annual ‘National Gathering of Elders’ event in Edmonton, AB, in 2017.
Being a helping hand for Indigenous communities across the country is what I Myra wants to continue being a part of. Learning and taking in all the different aspects of culture and tradition is something that she enjoys engaging in.
In her spare time, Myra likes meeting new people, road trips, events, photography, art, spending time with friends and family, movies, music, and anything creative. She is a problem solver and loves doing trivia and sudoku. Spending quality time with her fur baby ‘Minx’, who is a tuxedo cat, is also something she enjoys in my spare time.
Myra is excited to be a part of the CCIB team and looks forward to her new journey supporting Indigenous businesses, organizations, and communities. Helping people and building lasting relationships and connections is her goal.
