SpruceLab Inc. is a transdisciplinary planning, landscape architecture and urban design consultancy with offices in Toronto and Edmonton, Indigenous and women-owned and operated (certified by the Canadian Council of Aboriginal Businesses (CCAB). Our areas of expertise include integrated project delivery (IPD), community and Indigenous engagement and design, urban design, nature-based solutions / green infrastructure (low-impact development / LID), public art, industrial design, and training. We specialize in nature-based solutions that connect people to land, water, and each other, to help create resilient, healthy communities. And we strive to prioritize Indigenous voices and build capacity through this work where possible.
Founded in 2020, SpruceLab has been engaged by First Nations, Indigenous Peoples (businesses, artists, organizations, non-profits), governments, universities, colleges, developers, land-based consultants, and non-profits. Our team embodies the spirit of a living lab: A learning environment that generates innovative and effective ideas for complex projects. We believe that combining creativity and technical expertise sparks new ideas, inspires great design, and results in realistic plans leading to successful and meaningful projects. Our vision is to contribute to a world where ecosystems are restored, and regenerative landscapes sustain all life.
