The Research Coordinator is responsible for performing administrative and project support, outreach and writing for the department. These include supporting the organization of research projects and events, travel, finance, and scheduling. As well as provide support as needed to research proposals and planning, stakeholder engagement and writing.
Key Responsibilities:
Research
- Identify potential research participants.
- Support the collection and organization of quantitative and qualitative data.
- Support the summarizing and analyzing of data for research reports.
- Identify potential research funding sources.
- Provide input into the creation and develop future research themes and project proposals.
Business Development
- Administrative support for strategic relationships.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement.
- Engage stakeholders directly to maintain and foster strong relationships.
Administration Functions
- Compile research outreach material, conduct outreach, monitor responses, schedule interviews.
- Ensure timely delivery of reports to stakeholders and participants.
- Support Associate and Project Manager in the development and maintenance of the research database.
- Assist in the development of department’s annual work plan and budget.
- Assist in the organization, maintenance, and monitoring of the Research Library.
- Assist in updating and formatting documents, templates, processes, and materials that support the success of the Research department.
- Provide administrative support to management for the convening of a range of meetings on short- or long-term proposals and projects.
- Perform administrative functions such as processing receipts, travel documentation, department calendar, events coordination, participant engagement and organization, interview, and meeting minutes, transcription.
Marketing and Communications
- Coordinate marketing and communication of research projects/results
- Providing support for grant and proposal submissions
- Coordination and administration of research related events and travel
- Coordination of marketing vendors including graphic design, video, and photographer for events
Qualifications:
Formal Education and Experience
- A university or college degree with at least 1 year of experience in similar environment
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Evidence of strong communication and organizational skills.
- Strong data and research analysis methodology knowledge.
- Familiarity with issues affecting First Nations, Inuit, and Metis people.
- Strong MS Office knowledge including Word and Excel.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and under pressure of deadlines.
- Demonstrated capability in managing project tasks.
- Comfortable dealing with senior executives and government officials.
- Flexible approach to addressing stakeholders concerns and/or issues.
- Experience working with various teams within an organization.
- Able to work with limited supervision.

Position Type: This is a full-time Contract position leading to permanent after 12 months. Location is anywhere in Canada, with hours from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
