Special Projects Manager

One – Year Contract, Full Time, Remote

Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) is a national Indigenous, non-partisan association. Our mission is to promote, strengthen and enhance a prosperous Indigenous economy through the fostering of business relationships, opportunities, and awareness.

The Special Projects Manager will be responsible for the management of some of CCAB’s new and existing programs, in particular those dealing with the CCAB Connects program and skills building for Indigenous businesses including sourcing and responding to grants available to Indigenous owned businesses.

The Special Projects Manager is responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Managing members inquiries regarding grant applications and RFP, RFI’s responses
  • Implementation and design of CCAB’s new Connects program
  • Budget Management – role is responsible for reporting on a regular basis project budget update
  • Facilitating roundtables to support the community, establish needs, and iterate programming, program redesign and redevelopment
  • Overseeing training materials to assist with business owners learning requirements

Program Management

  • Project coordination and implementation within timelines and budgets
  • Managing vendor and partner relationships and expectations
  • Managing the collection of guidelines, due dates, and updates regarding scheduled deliverables
  • Maintaining records for the purposes of supporting data analysis, i.e., company successes in obtaining grants or projects for member’s businesses

Business Development

  • Build and manage stakeholder engagement promoting the program to ensure participation from our membership
  • Strategic development of new related products or resources to assist members with the grant process requirements
  • Manage updates to provide to our supporters of the program

Qualifications:

  •  Evidence of strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in administering grant programs – provincial, federal, and private companies.
  • Strong writing skills
  • Familiarity with First Nations, Inuit, and Metis peoples.
  • Strong MS Office knowledge specially with Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and under pressure of deadlines.
  • Budgeting skills.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing project tasks.
  • 3-6 years experience planning knowledge.
  • Flexible approach to addressing members concerns and/or issues.
  • Experience collaborating with various teams within an organization.
  • Able to work with limited supervision.
