Kendra Fisher
Administrative Coordinator
My name is Kendra Fisher, and my traditional name is Giigitowasse Kwe (Talking Bright Woman). I am from Kettle & Stony Point First Nations. My mother is from Kettle Point and my father is from Chippewa of the Thames First Nation. While I was growing up, I spent a lot of time in both communities.
After moving to Toronto in 2016, I attended the CMU College of Makeup Art & Design. After graduating and receiving my diploma, I’ve had a flourishing career as a makeup artist in Toronto and the GTA.
I always wanted to work within the Indigenous community in Toronto, so I made the career pivot with the assistance of Miziwe Biik Employment & Training. I am passionate about establishing my new career, and eager to expand my knowledge at CCIB.
Currently, I am connecting more with my culture and the Indigenous community in Toronto, so I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of this team. I enjoy learning new things and helping others, and I’m eager to meet the rest of the team, and build connections in my work community.
