Victoria Prue
Associate, PAIR Program
Victoria Prue is a non status off reserve Métis. Her mom is French and First Nations and her father is Irish and Scottish. Her First Nations background comes from Midland (Metis town) and Christian Island. She is Ojibway Metis and was born and raised in Toronto. Her Indigenous name is: “The one that stands in the west.” Growing up, Victoria didn’t know much about her culture, but was greatly impacted by generational trauma. Victoria attended George Brown College where she was given an award for being an advocate for Indigenous rights.
Victoria is a child and youth worker, but she has always had an interest in helping the Indigenous community, which is reflected in her volunteer work there. Victoria is excited to be a part of the CCIB team and is honored to be a PAIR Associate. Some plans for her future are to become a professional writer or speaker (communication) by returning to school to continue her professional development. She has a bi-racial son and wants to be his advocate and a role model.
