Brenda Thwaites

Brenda Thwaites is Anishinaabe Kwe, a proud member of Serpent River First Nation located on the north shore of Lake Huron and a born and raised Torontonian. Prior to joining the CCIB team, Brenda was employed as the Program Coordinator at Miziwe Biik Aboriginal Employment and Training in the Pre-Apprenticeship and Skilled Trades Dept. where client case management and program recruitment/retention was centric to the role. While at Miziwe Biik she completed leadership and job coach development training.
During her time with Sears, she held a customer service managerial role, in 3 stores leading a team between 15-30 and was the store’s Credit Coordinator.
Brenda holds certification as a Life Skills Coach through YWCA, and she is a Smart Serve Ontario accredited trainer and facilitator. Life Skills is an indispensable training program for group leaders, coaches and facilitators and Smart Serve is the only responsible alcohol training program for Ontario, approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
She has two beautiful children and enjoys spending time with them especially outdoors.
When she has time she reads, walks and swims.
